The Redi-Storm wind rated tornado doors are constructed to withstand powerful windstorms while retaining the functions of a normal service door. After hurricane Andrew devastated Florida in 1992, Metro-Dade County modified its building codes to increase protection from windstorms. The Alpine Redi-Storm’s design for rolling hurricane doors complies with these strict guidelines. This creates a Dade County approved wind rated overhead door that is capable of withstanding 187 mph winds. Alpine’s Redi-Storm IMB has all the same features as the hurricane overhead door, Redi-Storm, with the addition of Insulated Metal Back slats.
